Current measurements

Spectral analysis of the motor current

Besides the numerous mechanical failures and malfunctions there are also several electrical problems that can be detected with vibration measurements. One of these problems is damaged or broken rotor bars in an electric motor. Although detectable with vibration measurements, for and more accurate indication of the seriousness of the problem an electrical current analysis is necessary. For these measurements the electrical current through one of the phases is measured using a current clamp.

Periodical current measurements

Periodical current measurements could, especially for larger electric motors and supplementary to the vibration measurements, contribute to an even more reliable condition monitoring program.

Thermographic inspection on the electrical drive component can complete the monitoring program for the whole installations as well mechanical as electrical.

Combining the inspection methods above, results in the most complete and reliable condition monitoring program.
